The Bachelor Season 13 finale. Jason Mesnick, Molly, Melissa and DeAnna Pappas

Ok, let's see here, a little background and timeline just in case you happened to miss all the gossip and drama and don't have friends with cable. DeAnna Pappas turns down Jason Mesnick's marriage proposal on The Bachelorette.

Jason Mesnick is chosen over Jeremy to be THE NEXT BACHELOR

Jillian was my favorite, I wished he hadn't sent her home but now I'm glad he did, he DOESN'T deserve her!!!

Jason narrows it down to Melissa Rycroft and Molly Malaney.

Just as everyone suspected from the conspiracies floating around the internet, Jason gives Melissa Rycroft the "Final Rose" and proposes marriage to her.
And they lived happily ever after...

Nope, maybe not! Jason Mesnick breaks up with Melissa on the After The Final Rose episode after being engaged to her for 6 weeks, then asks Molly to give them a "shot", and she does. Apparently they're still together and happy, more of which I'm sure we'll find out tomorrow night on part 2 of After The Final Rose. What do I think about all of this? Oh, where do I start? Well, let me get this out of the way, I loved Melissa's yellow-gold dress she was wearing for the finale! LOVED it. And for some reason I kept seeing an American Express card on the front of the dress, look at it again and you'll see what I'm talking about. I can't find any pics of it right now. And the earrings above that Molly's wearing in the kissing pic? I love them, I need to have them! If someone finds them somewhere, please let me know!
Anyway, back to the drama. I think there's a lot of truth to what Reality Steve has been saying all along but I'm not sure about everything and not sure if any of us "viewers" will ever really know the truth. I am really just wondering about a few things:
1. On the Jimmy Kimmel show, Jason said Melissa knew it was over before she came on the After The Final Rose episode but that he was sort of locked in to breaking up with her on TV since everyone agreed the relationship would be played out on air. What I want to know is, when did they break up??
2. Was Jason lying when he said he hasn't had any contact with Molly since the finale of The Bachelor?
3. What happens to that gorgeous marquis engagement ring? I assume ABC gets it back along with Melissa's broken heart.
I kind of think that everyone was sort of in on the AFTR episode. Maybe not Melissa but if she was, she did a pretty good job of acting angry, I especially liked when she called him a b*st*rd! That's sort of how I was feeling toward him at that moment too. Molly seemed to almost want to laugh at herself for being such a horrible actress and Jason was just a bit too calm through all of it, the break up and the second chance offer. If I were Molly, and not acting, I would have made Jason beg and still told him that I'd have to seriously think about it considering his actions.
FAVORITE QUOTE
"you took that from me, you took it"
Melissa referring to the fact that being engaged is supposed to happen only once in a girl's life and he has spoiled it for her.

I just left a super long comment on Rach's post. So I'll try to restrain myself.
First thanks for Reality Steve. I read all his posts yesterday. I was pissed at first, but then as I watched it playt out and the after show and Jimmy show I realized that Jason did all he could to minimize the damage for both these gals.
Hears what I think bases on what I've read and seen.
Jason really thought Mel was perfect for him, she played it well. Who WOULDN'T get sucked into perfection in that crazy world.
So he HAD to choose it was in his contract. Poor Molly. They spent the holidays together, good way to see reality. It wasn't working. I believe they broke up shortly after that. Or I should clarify, he told Mel it wasn't working and they needed to talk. That his feelings had changed. SHE KNEW. But he couldn't "break up with her" until camera's were rolling. They both knew this. She held it together WAY too much...notice how when she started getting worked up Chris cut in and and "took a break?!?" Why? Didn't they WANT a good show? Let the girl go off on him. No, they were afraid she'd say
"Why didn't you just break up with me back when..." Because he COULDN'T legally. Do I believe Molly and Jason were in contact?
YES. Do I believe that agreed to say they weren't because legally they weren't ALLOWED to be. YES.
But I think it was "I can't stop thinking about you...I think I made a mistake." But nothing on the lines of "Hey, lets you and me get together."
THAT I think was a surprise. She must have been thinking of it but didn't know...because they weren't even suppose to be talking.
What De said really hit the ball out of the park for me and summed up the show. She went for the wild card...meaning the one the looked the most perfect...like the apple in Eden...why would you choose a bananna when a shiny apple is dangled there? It was the same fr Jason he couldn't SEE past the cameras and next couple days.
I LOVE Jillian. I am really not excited for her to be the Bachelorette. I liked Deanna too until she chose Jesse over Jason. and broke Jeremy's heart and WHY the heck was she so hung up on what was his name Grant? You knwo the one I'm talking about...saying he didn't want to be one in a bunch of guys...well why'd you do the SHOW dufus!? Anyhoo, I worry that my Jill bubble will be popped because of what the show is going to do to her or require of her or basically OWN her soul...That scares me. Look at what it did to Jason? The guy just wanted to find a nice girl. He TRIED to do the right thing but it's hard when you got producers and contracts saying YOU MUST DO IT THIS WAY!
Ok I'm done.

Once again Sara, well said! It was Graham, I totally remember him. I also love Jillian but I do want her to be the next Bachelorette although I do worry what it will make her look like or what it will require her to do, etc. like you said. But I still want to see how she handles it all, is that selfish? Lol. Like you said, things must be way different after the cameras stop rolling. Hopefully Jason and Molly can find love together and Melissa will be ok, I'm sure they'll all get offers from playboy at least! ha. I would highly discourage it but they may see that as a positive outcome...

I agree with you!

I just hated to see such a huge MESS when it could've been avoided by simply making responsible decisions.

Enough about Jason. I can't wait for Jillian. She's my girl. :-)

somehow i doubt that an engagement that's in any way related to "The Bachelor" could possibly be legit
