I read Angie Smith's blog frequently and linked over to Rach's blog at some point and saw this Year of The Scarf button on her blog which I clicked on and it brought me to Rachel's blog, who is hosting the Year of the Scarf Bloggy Carnival which was inspired by Angie Smith. So I decided I wanted to participate in my very first Bloggy Carnival!! After all, I wear scarves. The one I'm wearing most often lately is shown in the picture below. And you know what? I made it! I crocheted it myself and it was one of the first things I ever crocheted.
When I was pregnant with my daughter Autumn, my water ruptured at 21 weeks so I was laid up in a hospital for 8 weeks holding her in while the medical staff prevented my labor! You can read that story here. Anyway, my friend's stepmom came by with a bunch of stuff for me to do to make time go by. She knew I liked to do crafts so she brought me a paint by number, an embroidery kit, and my very first crochet hook with some yarn. She taught me how to make a dishcloth and bought me a crochet book full of patterns! I fell in love with crochet. I made all kinds of things during those 8 weeks. Some of the things were a blanket for Autumn which she uses in her crib now, a blanket for Keaton which is on his bed and this gray scarf. I really love it because it's a really easy pattern for beginners and it's very versatile. I wear it indoors as well as out. Especially when I go somewhere indoors that I know is going to be cold from AC, it's the perfect in between of wearing a coat or not.
Be sure to come back tomorrow for my thoughts on Jason, Melissa, Molly, DeAnna and the whole Bachelor conspiracy fiasco!

My mom would be happy to adopt you- I have disapoointed her with my lack of needle skills. That's okay. Great scarf.
LOVE your hand made scarf!! Very neat! I would love to learn how to crochet.
I can also relate to some of what you went through with premature labor. My first pregnancy only lasted 25 weeks. We used to do alot with the March of Dimes too.
Fun visit! I'm glad you linked up and participated with the scarf carnival. :)
Love your scarf! Thanks for linking to the pattern - I may have to try this :)

You do wonderful work!! Gorgeous scarf. I wish I that kind of talent. :-)
I'm happy that you're joining in on my Bachelor party - should be really fun!
I'm crafty, too, but I've yet to pick up those kinds of needles (cross-stitch and machine stuff is where I have spent my time). But I love the simple elegance that is in your scarf, and that it is handmade makes it all the more special! Thanks for the visit today....
I feel as though I am the worst Bloggy Carnival Hostess EVER!!! My internet is FINALLY back up so here is my long overdue comment...
I LOVE your scarf. I really like how thin it is. I have crocheted a little bit so maybe I will have to do one similar for myself.
Thank you so much for participating in my carnival!
